Icoges' BTS in Interior/Exterior Design, a state-accredited degree, allows one to work in different economic sectors of the economy:
- - architectural and urban spaces (residential, office space, industrial, commercial- point of sale, cultural, leisure-oriented...)
- - urban landscapes (both natural and man-made)
- - architectural heritage (industrial, historic)
- - design and products of the environment (furniture, lighting, objects)
- - the performance arts (museums, art of the street, stage design)
- - temporary spaces / special events designer (expositions, congresses, seminars, conferences, workshops, fairs, stage/set design and ?objets afférents)
Degree awarded
Upon successful completion of all course requirements, the student is awarded with a BTS in Interior/Exterior Design degree (a state-sanctioned degree equivalent to "Bac+2").
Career possibilities for those who have earned a BTS in Interior/Exterior Design degree
Assistant employed by a design studio which specialises in interior and/or exterior design.
Academic programme of the BTS in Interior/Exterior Design
Fruit of the combination of two BTS programmes - Interior Design and Environmental Designer - the BTS in Interior/Exterior Design academic programme aims to prepare the student to possess a basic understanding of the needs and constraints of the interior / exterior designer, as well as to participate in the conception/planning and putting into action of a project related to the designing of both interior and exterior spaces...". Academic instruction revolves around the following themes:
- learning how to see space through observation and experimentation
- discovering the different types of spaces: the differing objectives of public spaces versus those of private spaces
- mastering the methodology of a project by way of different tools such as computers
