Overview of the academic programme

The theoretical part of this academic program is based principally on the applied sciences and psycho-sociology. The professional instruction, on the other hand, focuses on acquiring an understanding of the numerous social institutions and their influence on everyday life.

The objective of this academic program is to create specialists capable of helping both individuals and groups resolve everyday family, social, and/or economic problems. To achieve a general approach to a variety of questions, course material is treated based on its psychological, sociological, economical, technological, legal, and practical aspects, all of which require an inter-disciplinary approach. After obtaining this BTS degree, the student may then go on to earn the degree in Advising in ESF (Social and Family Economics).

Degree awarded

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, the student is awarded with a BTS in Social and Family Economics degree (a state-sanctioned degree equivalent to "Bac+2").

General instruction

  • - Social and Family Economics:
    • - Activities and components of everyday life (nutrition, housing, appliances, the structuring of one's quality of life, clothing, health, living environment, urbanism and the natural environment, and social life)
    • - Methodes and techniques of the professional social worker
  • - An understanding of both the living and working environments (in-house visits, internships and inter-disciplinary work)
  • - Study of a foreign language
