Overview of the academic programme

The BTS in Information Management Systems graduate must be capable of rapidly learning about the needs of a variety computer users. With this in mind, as a fundamental component of his education, he will participate in trouble-shooting exercises and will carry out all or part of the setting up of a trouble-shooting program, within the economic, organisational, and ethnical limitations. He will participate in putting into place/action the system he created, and in instructing the target users of this program. The BTS in Information Management Systems academic program, modernised in 1996, is specially designed for those students wishing to enter the field of Information Management Systems as opposed to Industrial Computing, for which there exist other academic programs.

Course work focuses on a group of core, mandatory classes during the first year of study, followed by a choice of two specialisations offered during the second year of study: the student must choose either (A) Software Development or (B) Local Network Administrator.

Degree awarded

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, the student is awarded with a BTS in Information Management Systems degree (a state-sanctioned degree equivalent to "Bac+2").
